Ad-PHS project’s workshop in Slovakia

On October 6, 2020, the Ad-PHS project partners hosted an online workshop on PHS in Slovakia. This Workshop was attended by Aurelie Decker (EFSI), Thomas Bignal, and Renaud Scheuer (EASPD).
The objectives of the workshop were to introduce the Ad-PHS project, to connect various PHS stakeholders, to review the current state of PHS in Slovakia, as well as to present guidelines and promising practices.

The workshop was hosted by the partners and by the Slovak network Tenenet. Initially, the workshop had been scheduled to take place, in person, in March 2020. Unfortunately, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic forced the organizers to postpone the event, and eventually to organize it online. The organisers still managed to gather a diversity of speakers and participants representing public authorities, trade unions, persons with disabilities’ organizations, service providers, academics, and other relevant stakeholders.

During the workshop, František Drozd, from OZ Familiaris, Svit, and Zuzana Poláčková, from Slovak Academy of Science, gave presentations on the Slovak PHS sectors and social vouchers. This was followed by a review of the Country report for Slovakia moderated by the partners and including all the participants. This enables the report to be more comprehensive and detailed. Afterwards, Thomas Bignal and Aurelie Decker presented the guidelines on Social dialogue structures and Social vouchers, which elicited lively discussions with the participants. Their interest in the topics presented and in the upcoming conference is certain and the partners look forward to exciting developments for PHS in Slovakia.
